Goobne Chicken reduces boneless meat weight by 100g... 'Price remains the same'

Amid worsening chicken supply instability due to the mass culling of breeder and broiler chickens caused by the recent Avian Influenza (AI) outbreak, GN Food, the operator of Goobne Chicken, announced on the 1st that it will reduce the weight of its boneless chicken leg, wing/stick, and whole leg menus by 100g.

This adjustment applies to the boneless chicken leg, wing/stick, and whole leg menus. Based on the boneless chicken leg menu, the pre-cooking weight will be adjusted from 800g to 700g. The price remains the same.

Goobne Chicken explained, "In a situation where raw material prices are rising and supply burdens are prolonged, we considered various options such as price increases, changing raw materials, and adjusting operational standards. Ultimately, we decided on this adjustment to maintain consumer prices while upholding Goobne Chicken's taste and quality standards."

Goobne Chicken emphasized that it uses only domestic chicken leg meat and that the proportion of boneless menus centered on chicken legs is particularly high. They explained that they chose to adjust the operational standards of some menus to maintain existing quality standards without mixing in imported materials or other parts of the chicken.

A company official added, "Even after this weight adjustment, the pre-cooking weight remains at a level similar to general boneless menus in the industry."
