A man has been sentenced to a suspended prison term after striking his girlfriend in the eye, causing an injury requiring approximately four weeks of treatment, and threatening to "kill her" while holding a weapon because she refused to have sex.

On December 6 of last year, around 1:35 AM at a residence in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Mr. Kim returned home intoxicated and demanded sex from his girlfriend, the victim (Ms. A), who was lying in the bedroom. When she refused, he became enraged, shouted profanities, and punched Ms. A in the eye, causing injuries including retinal detachment that required approximately 30 days of treatment.
