[Breaking] Annual Leave to be Split into 'Hourly Units' Starting Next Year

Annual paid leave, which was typically used in full-day increments, will be available to be split and used in hourly units starting next year.

In addition to hourly annual leave, the proposed amendment to the Labor Standards Act includes a provision allowing employees who work 4 hours to leave work immediately without a break, provided they explicitly request to waive their break time.

In particular, regulations have been explicitly stated to prevent employers from dismissing or treating employees unfavorably on the grounds of requesting or using annual paid leave.
