How to Handle Foreign Objects Found in Delivery Food

Don't panic if you find a foreign object in your delivery food! Please follow these steps:

1. Take photos of the food and the foreign object.

Record the circumstances of the discovery to help accurately investigate the cause of the contamination.

Example) Found while slicing the pizza, found immediately upon opening the packaging, etc.

2. Store the foreign object carefully in a ziplock bag or an airtight container.

Ensure the object is not lost or damaged until it can be submitted to the investigating agency.

3. Report it to the delivery app company or via ☎1399.

To facilitate a smooth investigation into the cause, please submit the discovered object to the investigating agency.

The investigating agency (MFDS or local government) will conduct an investigation and notify you of the results directly.

◆ How to Report Foreign Objects in Delivery Food

1. Report to the delivery app company

When you report a foreign object to a delivery app company, the consumer report details are forwarded to the MFDS.

- Reporting through the delivery app you used is more convenient because the company already has the restaurant information and order details.

- You can report through various channels provided by each delivery platform, such as customer service calls, real-time chat, inquiry boards, or the in-app reporting menu.

Delivery App Foreign Object Notification System 「Food Sanitation Act」 Article 46 (Reporting of Foreign Objects Found in Food, etc.)

Mail-order brokers (delivery app companies) that specialize in mediating the mail-order sale of food prepared by food service establishments (restaurants) must notify the Minister of Food and Drug Safety upon receiving a report of a foreign object from a consumer.

2. Report to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS)

You can report directly to the MFDS via ☎1399.

- Please provide the restaurant information (business name, location, etc.), the food ordered, and the circumstances of the discovery.
